Altea
Altea, to the famous Spanish Costa Blanca, is a region with a lot of different sides. The region has been blessed with splendid sandy beaches to the Mediterranean Sea, striking hillocks for walkers and cyclists, and each type of resorts: from the living Benidorm and the traditional Altea, to the outlying coves and bays to the coast in Calpe.The city Altea started as a fisherman village and now a days it is a big city with a lot of tourism. But in spite of the large apartment buildings and the huge hotels it is still a very nice town with its own caracter.
The best place to enjoy this quiet city to the Costa Blanca is the plaza, lain on a high point with views concerning the coast. In the evening the markets open, when everybody is relaxing a cocktail party or a nice meal.
Allso the surounding cities in Altea are worth a visit. Espacially the city La Nucia with the Sunday market.
As everywhere in the Costa Blanca, Altea also has a lot to offer on activities during a holiday.
The Mediterranean Sea offers spectacular sail excursions, deeps-sea diving, windsurfing and safe swim. Moreover you can rent material and take classes immediately on the beach of Altea and on most of the touristic beaches.
